For several years now, Meditalents has been approached by embassies and cultural institutions to support filmmakers coming from sensitive contexts or living in exile.
It was within this framework that we had the great pleasure of welcoming Amineh Arani, an Iranian filmmaker, into our programs.
Over the course of five months, we had the opportunity to accompany Amineh in the development of two projects — a fiction film and a documentary — and to help her envision new professional perspectives in Europe.
She kindly agreed to reflect with us on her journey with Meditalents, on what this experience allowed her to build, and on her hopes for the future.
A rich, sensitive, and inspiring interview — now available to watch — that speaks to the power of writing as a space of freedom and reconstruction, and to the need to give voice to stories that transcend borders.
Over these past months, meaningful bonds have been forged, and we are glad to continue nurturing them.
