About the Author

Background

Born in Cannes in 1981, he took a Master's degree in cinema with a directing option at the IUP SATIS. After years of assisting, he decides to refocus on his projects and to move to directing. He directed three short films : Brûlent les villes, brûle le ciel (2020 - Prix de la mise en scène Côté-Court 2021), Un point dans la foule (2017), Demain (2012). At the same time, he attended training courses with the G.R.E.C. or the Ateliers Varan and obtained grants such as those from the Beaumarchais Foundation. He continues his cinematographic quest where politics collides with poetry.

Laura, a Spanish punk, tired in her thirties, works as a seasonal worker in an orchard in the South of France when a phone call forces her to return home.

Que Viva la Guerra

Laura, a thirty-year-old punk, travels around the South of France in her converted truck in the hope of finding a seasonal job. But a phone call forces her to urgently return to her native village. Her father, suffering from silicosis contracted at the marble quarry, wants to be euthanized. At odds with her parents, Laura will have to reconnect with her past to accompany her father towards death, opposing her mother and the village.
