For the first session of the 14th edition of LabMed, eight residents gathered to begin the residency work on their fiction projects.
Under the artistic direction of Adriano Valerio and with the support of our mentors, Fabrizio Mosca and Aude Py, the residency began with a blend of group discussions and individual follow-ups.
We will reunite with our residents in June for the second session of the program.
This year, Meditalents and the Music & Cinema Festival of Marseille have partnered for the Co/Lab: a special space for meetings between writers, producers, and professionals centered around Mediterranean feature film projects (fiction and documentary) from Meditalents' LabMed, LabDoc, and LabSud writing residencies.
On Thursday, March 27, 2025, we gathered at the Artplexe for the pitch session of our residents' projects. This year, the projects from LabMed, as well as three LabDoc projects (Your Body is a Battleground, Condamned to Dream, and La Féconde), were presented.
This Co/Lab provided the residents with the opportunity to share the fruits of their work in front of an audience composed of producers, distributors, and industry professionals.
In the afternoon, our residents continued with one-to-one meetings, which lasted until Friday, March 28, at the Marseille Conservatory, providing a unique opportunity for exclusive encounters with producers.
During this Co/Lab, the 11 projects had the chance to meet with around forty producers. After two days of one-on-one meetings and nearly fifty appointments, the Co/Lab concluded, also marking the end of this week of residency.
For the first session of the 6th edition of the LabDoc, our residents gathered to begin their documentary project residencies.
Under the artistic direction of Adriano Valerio and with the support of our mentors Shu Aiello and Giulia Achilli, the residency began, combining group discussions with individual follow-ups.
We will reunite with our residents in September 2025 for the second and final session of LabDoc.
