Meet Meditalents' New President, Vice President, and General Secretary

This July 2026 marks an important milestone in the history of Meditalents. After fifteen years of supporting emerging Mediterranean filmmakers, the association is welcoming three new film professionals to its Executive Board: Marcia Romano as President, Thomas Morvan as Vice President, and Carole Guenot as General Secretary.

This new leadership team strengthens Meditalents as the association embarks on a new chapter in its development.

We are delighted to welcome our new President, Marcia Romano. A screenwriter and director, she has collaborated with some of the leading figures of French cinema, including Emmanuelle Bercot, François Ozon, Audrey Estrougo, Xavier Giannoli, Emmanuel Bourdieu and Alice Winocour, co-writing several of their feature films.

She has also co-directed several films with Benoît Sabatier, including Fotogenico, which was selected for ACID Cannes 2024.

Producer Thomas Morvan joins Meditalents as Vice President. Since 2014, he has worked at Unité, where he has overseen the production of numerous critically acclaimed works, including La Belle de Gaza and Souleymane's Story, both selected for the Official Competition at the 77th Cannes Film Festival.

That same year, he also produced the documentary series DJ Mehdi: Made in France, which received the Best Documentary Series Award at the 7th Canneseries.

We are also pleased to welcome Carole Guenot as Secretary General. A writer, director, and assistant director, and a graduate of the School of Fine Arts, she began her career in cinema by working on numerous feature films spanning a wide range of artistic worlds.

Alongside her work in film, she has developed several writing projects across different formats. In 2004, she wrote and directed the short film La Faucheuse à ma mère.

We would also like to express our heartfelt thanks to everyone who has contributed to Meditalents over the past fifteen years. We extend our special gratitude to Olivier Chantriaux, President of the association from 2023 to 2026, whose dedication and commitment played a key role in its growth and development.

The new leadership team joins the cofounder Nella Banfi and the treasurer Gérald Moulédous,. Together, they build on the legacy of Meditalents with a shared ambition to continue and strengthen the association's mission since its founding: supporting emerging talent and bringing Mediterranean cinema to an ever wider international audience.
