Once again this year, Meditalents was present at the Festival Music & Cinéma Marseille, held from March 30 to April 4. On April 2, we organised a panel discussion dedicated to the role of writing residencies in the journey of film authors, moderated by Adriano Valerio, artistic director of Meditalents.
The session brought together six panellists with complementary profiles: Perrine Vincent, head of the professional support department at the CNC; Charlotte Le Bos-Schneegans, project officer for feature film, film education and residency support at Région Sud; Fabienne Moris, director of the CECI Moulin d'Andé residency; Julie Marnay, programme manager at Tatino Films and Full Circle Lab; Pascale Faure, consultant and residency advisor at the residencies of the Festival de Clermont-Ferrand; and Romuald Rodrigues Andrade, filmmaker, producer and former Meditalents resident.

The discussion focused on the concrete role of residencies in the creative process: time for concentration, distance from projects, cross-sector encounters and the building of lasting professional networks. The diversity of profiles brought together - public institutions, private structures, regional schemes and the author's perspective - fuelled a rich and engaging conversation that drew a full house.
The exchanges continued at the cocktail reception at Bô Zin, organised in partnership with the FJPI (Fédération des Jeunes Productions Indépendantes), which brought together nearly 150 people - industry professionals, Marseille-based partners, tutors, former and future residents. A wonderful opportunity to reunite all those who make up the Meditalents community.

The festival was also an opportunity to celebrate three films connected to the Meditalents community.
Tout va bien by Thomas Ellis, a former resident whose project went through the LabDoc in 2020, was selected in the festival's "coup de cœur" section and, once again, filled the room.
Kotowari by Coralie Watanabe Prosper, a short film developed through a Meditalents individual residency, was a wonderful discovery, screened every morning during the school sessions.
Finally, Amélie et la métaphysique des tubes, for which Aude Py, tutor at the LabMed 2025 and 2026, wrote the screenplay, was also presented at MCM following a oingoing remarkable international journey.
A heartfelt congratulations to all, it was a true pleasure to see these films on the screens of Marseille.
A new edition that builds on a renewed partnership, and always the same pleasure of being there, to exchange, to meet, and to strengthen ties around Mediterranean cinema.
