This week, Meditalents attended the Ji.hlava International Documentary Film Festival for the very first time, marking the beginning of a promising new partnership.
It was a wonderful experience, a warm welcome, inspiring encounters, and many remarkable projects discovered throughout the festival.

A huge congratulations to Maria Sidiropoulou and Chloé Bruhat, winners of the Meditalents Residency Award at the 2025 New Visions Forum & Market of the 29th Ji.hlava International Documentary Film Festival !
Their project, Momtski Kamen – The Girls Rock, produced by Thunderbird Productions, has been awarded a selection for the 7th edition of LabDoc, which will take place in 2026 as part of this new partnership.
We look forward to welcoming Maria and Chloé among the LabDoc authors, alongside filmmakers from across the Mediterranean, for another year of writing, exchange, and shared creation.

Momtski Kamen – The Girls Rock tells the story of Ismé, Elif, and Fatmé, three Pomak friends living in an isolated village in Xanthi. Together, they set out in search of Momtski Kamen, The Girl's Rock, a mythical place where, according to legend, their ancestors threw themselves into the void to escape dishonor. Through their journey, the film explores memory, identity, and the intergenerational weight of womanhood within a community torn between tradition and emancipation.
About the filmmakers:
Maria Sidiropoulou, a former journalist specializing in crises and gender-based violence, turned to documentary filmmaking to tell stories of resilience and empowerment. With Thunderbird Productions, she develops feminist projects, including Tack, a film about the #MeToo movement in Greece.
Chloé Bruhat is a filmmaker whose work explores themes of love, intimacy, and vulnerability. She is the author of Nos Amours and Grand Parloir. With Fatou en mode Grèce (Canal+), she began building a strong creative connection with Greece, a thread she continues through Momtski Kamen – The Girls Rock.
Congratulations to all the authors and producers who took part in the forum. We also extend our warm thanks to the Ji.hlava International Documentary Film Festival for its hospitality and the quality of this first collaboration. A meaningful professional encounter, paving the way for future exchange and shared perspectives. ✨
