From October 13 to 18, Meditalents welcomed in Marseille the residents of the 14th edition of LabMed for the third and final session of the year. After two previous sessions in March and June, the authors gathered one last time to continue developing their fiction projects, under the guidance of Fabrizio Mosca and Laïla Marrakchi. It was an intense and collaborative week that marked the conclusion not only of the LabMed 2025 program, but also of all Meditalents residencies for this year.
This year, we had the pleasure of welcoming nine residents and their projects:
Leïla Basma – Running with Beast (produced by Natalia Pavlove, Other Stories)
Nikoleta Leousi – LICE
Andamion Murataj – Cittadina 113 (produced by Gianfilippo Pedote, Casa delle Visioni)
Davide Petrosino & Pietro Jellinek – No Miracles (Achille non fa i miracoli)
Adi Adwan – The Mountain Whispers (produced by Itai Tamir, Laila Films)
Sofia El Khyari – The Birds of Scheherazade
Samir Bouallegue – The Last Makroud Before the End of the World
Amit Vaknin – On the Sidelines / Nights
We were delighted to welcome these authors and to support their projects. May their time at Meditalents give real momentum to their films, we look forward to following their journeys. We are also deeply grateful to our mentors, whose guidance has greatly enriched this year’s Lab editions. A year filled with creativity, collaboration, and shared energy, thank you to everyone who made it possible.
A heartfelt thank you to our funders; Région Sud, the City of Marseille, the CNC, the Aix-Marseille-Provence Metropolis, and Procirep, whose support enables our residencies and programs to grow and evolve each year. We also extend our thanks to our partners ; the Milano Film Network, Cinemed, the Music & Cinema Marseille Festival, the Ji.hlava International Documentary Film Festival, and the MedFilm Festival, with whom we share the same commitment to supporting authors and promoting Mediterranean cinema.
A beautiful season comes to an end, but the projects continue their journey, and we look forward to following their paths.
