Synopsis

In 2020, my sister survived a violent assault. Lost and overwhelmed, I did what I’ve always done: I filmed her. For four years, I documented her slow reconstruction, exploring her struggle with depression and the strength of our sisterhood. An intimate journey toward healing and resilience.

About the Author

Background

Trained in screenwriting, Julia began by writing fiction. Very quickly, she realized that what truly drives her in cinema is the ability to observe the world through human stories rooted in reality. In 2019, she moved to Quebec to study Documentary Filmmaking Techniques at EMCV. In the summer of 2020, a serious event shook her family. It would later become the subject of her first feature film, Sisters.
