Background

Samir Syriani (1989) is a Lebanese director and screenwriter known for a visually striking and emotionally grounded cinema. He built his reputation through award-winning music videos and television campaigns for international brands. His short film Contact (2019) premiered at the Tampere Film Festival and won several awards, including Best National Film at the Beirut International Women Film Festival. In 2025, What If They Bomb Here Tonight? was presented at the Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival, received multiple awards, and was selected at more than 80 festivals worldwide, where it continues its international run.
