About the Author

Background

Trained as a screenwriter, Julia started out writing fiction. She soon realized that what drives her in cinema is to look at the world through human adventures rooted in reality.
In 2019, she will move to Quebec to study documentary filmmaking techniques at EMCV.
In the summer of 2020, a serious event upset her family. It becomes the subject of her first short film, Sœurs.
With Pour rien nos mondes, Julia takes the time and distance to develop this first raw gesture into a longer, more ambitious form.

Soeurs

At 22, while in India studying yoga, my little sister Elena was hospitalized in an emergency. She suffered a violent psychotic attack following her confinement by a man for several days. Even from miles away, I feel her mind shattering. I have to go get her. Let me take her home. The film delves into the heart of an intimate exploration of sisterhood, and documents the slow reconstruction of a young woman who is the victim of one of these stories that are still too numerous, before she is forgotten.
