
About the Author
Chico Noras is a Portuguese filmmaker born in 1991 in Santarém. He holds a degree in Film and Television from NOVA University of Lisbon and further trained in directing and international film workshops. A member of the Portuguese Film Academy since 2025, he has also served as a programmer and jury member for several film festivals. He has directed several acclaimed short films, including A Fistful of Coins (2021), Maria José Maria (2023), and The Procedure (2024), the latter receiving multiple international awards and festival selections. He is currently developing a new short film, Massa Madre, and co-writing The Archive.

Dona Emília, 78, has lived in isolation for years inside a storage unit. Her life changes when she finds an abandoned child in the warehouse. She ventures out of her confinement and into a labyrinth-like space. After being separated from the child, she finally escapes and discovers a wild, unfamiliar outside world, symbolizing a new beginning.
